Art & Soul Studio is excited to host the Musikgarten curriculum taught by Megan.

Megan’s Musikgarten offers Family Music for Toddlers.  This class is designed to bring both the joy of music and movement while developing musical skills.  The adult and child explore music through singing, focused listening, moving, echoing rhythmic and melodic patterns and playing simple percussion instruments.

Home kits include parent guide, CD and toddler’s percussion instrument.

Megan, the daughter of musicians, began her life of music very early. Megan’s experience as a piano student, a chorister with Chicago’s The Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus, and then as a flute player with Minneapolis’ The Minnesota Youth Symphonies allowed her to form her philosophy of music. This philosophy, the importance of music to shape our whole self, led to Megan’s desire to share and teach music to children as early in their lives as possible! Megan received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She has taught general music in Virginia as well as New York public schools. After receiving her Musikgarten certification in June 2006, Megan immediately opened a private Musikgarten studio. In 2009, she decided to close the studio after the birth of her second son. Currently, Megan is in her sixth year teaching music at Imagination Preschool in Stony Brook, NY and is excited to be reopening her Musikgarten studio!
